Augusta Convocation

What is the purpose/mission of the convocation?

The Augusta Convocation (one of 5 Convocations in the diocese), within the Episcopal Diocese of Southwestern Virginia, exists to promote fellowship, ministry cooperation and collegiality, and clergy care amongst its episcopal communities and people. The convocation is a unit of mission endeavoring to create and live into a ministry together as the Episcopal Church in our geographical area.

We hope to develop ministry partnerships and relationships across our convocation that seek to make Christ better known, speaking into the real life issues that we face throughout our varied communities.

How often does the convocation gather together?

Delegates and clergy meet at least 4 times a year for official business. The convocation may also gather at other times, to which the wider membership of the convocation may also be invited / encouraged to attend.

The clergy who make up the convocation (including retired clergy) meet together, as a chapter, as they deem appropriate, for fellowship, support, and worship.

How can I get involved?

Events will advertised in email communications.

If you have questions or ideas to share, please reach out to members of the convocation leadership team.
